Vitamins can be taken in the form of supplements or increase intake of these foods that are rich in these vitamins. If taking supplements, it is necessary to consult a doctor first.
If memory loss is severe or it worsens over time, doctors can start prescribing drugs. Typically, drugs are prescribed just for age-related memory disorder loss caused by Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. There are many drugs approved by the United States FDA and the doctor will prescribe one that is best for the patient.
Some people prefer to herbal remedies that claim to enhance memory. This method of memory loss treatment can be effective if the loss is not serious and is not caused due to other health problems. Green tea and ginseng are considered memory booster and consumption that can reduce mild memory problems. Also, gotu kola (Centella asiatica) has been used in Southeast Asia for centuries because of its healing properties. Gotu kola contains compounds called triterpenoids. These compounds reduce anxiety rising mental functioning of the brain. It is believed that these properties of gotu kola help to enhance memory.
There are many treatments for memory loss. However, one should consult a qualified doctor if memory loss is a concern. It is not advisable to resort to self-medication or self-treatment. Some things are better left to the professionals.
